Internal Boundary Surfaces Card (CO2E)

This card is used to define the location of internal boundary surfaces. Internal boundary surfaces sever the internal connections between adjacent nodes, making the fluxes between these nodes controlled by the applied boundary conditions and not the gradients in temperature, pressure, or concentration between the nodes. By default, internal boundary surfaces have a Zero Flux type boundary. Therefore, an internal boundary surface without an associated boundary condition is an impermeable interior surface. Unique boundary conditions can be applied to either side of an internal boundary surface. Internal boundary surfaces are specified by referencing a group of coplanar nodes and a surface direction with respect to the nodes.

  • Formatting instructions for specifying internal boundary surfaces are provided on the Card Syntax page.

  • Examples of Internal Boundary Surfaces Cards for STOMP-CO2E are provided on the Card Examples page.
