Inactive Nodes Card Options (W)

Inactive nodes may be specified using any of the following methods:

  1. Explicit declaration
  2. External files
  3. Rock/soil zonation external files
  4. Rock/soil type zones
  5. Multiple entries

Explicit Declaration

Declares domains of nodes as being inactive.

External Files

Declares inactive nodes via an external file.  This can be particularly useful when the inactive nodes domains are automatically generated.

Rock/Soil Zonation

Declares inactive nodes based on rock/soil type.

Warning

IJK Indexing

As no rock/soil types are defined for IJK Indexing, the rock/soil type association is not recognized in conjunction with IJK Indexing

Rock/Soil Zonation External File

Declares inactive nodes via a formatted (ASCII) or binary external file containing rock/soil indices for the entire domain, where a zero entry represents an inactive node.  This option is useful when the rock/soil zonation has been entered via an external file, as the same file can be used to define both the rock/soil zonation and the inactive nodes when zero indices are used for inactive nodes.

Multiple Entries

The multiple entries option allows a combination of input options on a single Inactive Nodes Card (e.g., explicit declaration and rock/soil type association).
