STOMP

Surface Flux Card Options (EOR)

STOMP-EOR is designed to solve problems involving the transport of energy, water, CO2, CH4, salt, and a user-defined number of petroleum components with passive solutes or reactive species through variably saturated geologic media under non-isothermal conditions. Alternatively under the black-oil option, the simulator solves problems involving the transport of water, oil, gas, and salt passive solutes or reactive species through variably saturated geologic media under isothermal conditions. The Surface Flux Card for this operational mode is used to specify output for the flux of aqueous mass, aqueous volume, nonaqueous-liquid mass, nonaqueous-liquid volume, gas mass, gas volume, petroleum component mass, and salt mass. The simulator additional solves equations for the transport of passive solutes, allowing for the output of solute flux.  When the ECKEChem module is implemented with the simulator, the simulator has capabilities for solving reactive transport problems involving equilibrium, kinetic, and conservation type geochemical equations, allowing for the output of species flux.

Explicit Surfaces

Explicit surfaces are defined by specifying a surface direction and a range of grid-cells.

Linked Surfaces

Surfaces of various orientations and discontiguous grid cells can be linked using an external file to define the surface.

Single Surface Output File

The default for surface flux output is to a single file named surface.

Multiple Surface Output Files

Multiple surface output files can be specified, allowing the user to lump surface flux outputs to specific files.
