Boundary Conditions Card (EOR-BO)

STOMP-EOR-BO solves problems involving the transport of oil, gas, and salt passive solutes or reactive species through variably saturated geologic media under isothermal conditions. The simulator additional solves equations for the transport of passive solutes, allowing for partitioning of the solutes between the host rock/soil and mobile phases.  When the ECKEChem module is implemented with the simulator, the simulator has capabilities for solving reactive transport problems involving equilibrium, kinetic, and conservation type geochemical equations.  The Boundary Conditions Card is used to impose state conditions or fluxes across grid-cell surfaces that are not coupled to an adjacent grid cell (e.g., external boundary surfaces).  The Boundary Conditions Card is designed to allow the user to specify boundary conditions.  The STOMP-EOR-BO differs from other operational modes of the STOMP simulator, in that the fluids crossing the boundary surface are assumed to be in thermodynamic equilibrium, which restricts the user's ability to specify independent boundary conditions for each mobile phase.  The state of the fluids crossing the boundary surface is defined by identifying the phase condition of the mobile fluids as being one of the available phase conditions that are used to define the initial conditions, as shown in Table 1. Boundary types need to be specified for energy, mobile fluids, passive solutes, and reactive species. For STOMP-EOR-BO the specification order is always: 1) energy, 2) mobile fluids, 3) passive solutes, and 4) reactive species.
